  • Braniel PS Stars Shine Bright: Y6/7 Girls Triumph with Bloomfield FC 2013 Team!

    Tue 30 Apr 2024 Admin

At Braniel PS, we take pride in celebrating the accomplishments of our pupils, whether they occur within the school walls or extend beyond them. Today, we were delighted to celebrate the success of our Y6/7 girls who play for the all-conquering Bloomfield FC 2013 team. Two league trophies in the bag and hopefully another cup on the way! These girls exemplify the spirit of teamwork and are excellent ambassadors for Braniel PS!

Well done from all at Team Braniel.

  • Braniel progress to EDCO Cup final

    Fri 26 Apr 2024 Admin

The Y5/6 boys football team are through to the EDCO U10 Cup Final after a dramatic penalty shoot-out win against Holy Cross Boys PS at Waterworks.

Braniel had to dig deep and withstand lots of pressure from a strong Holy Cross side particularly dangerous from corners and long-throws.

The match finished 0-0 and the sides could not be separated. Our goalkeeper, Oliver, proved the hero in the shoot-out…making two penalty saves and stepping up to successfully convert a penalty himself!!

Braniel penalty goalscorers: Jaxson (Y5KB), Harlow (Y6PG), Robbie (Y5JJ) and Oliver (Y5JJ).

What a day to be associated with Braniel PS. The commitment and desire to win from all 12 boys was immense. A credit to our school and to their families.

We look forward to the final against Strandtown PS.

  • Gilnahirk PS 2 - 2 Braniel PS

    Thu 18 Apr 2024 Admin

Girls' football is class! Good football played in a determined but sporting manner makes it a joy to be at these games.  Another fantastic performance ended in a draw today thanks largely to an inspired performance by the Gilnahirk 'keeper. All the girls played very well but special mention must go to Lily in Year 5 who made her debut - mini but mighty springs to mind! - Mr Poole

    Well done everyone!

  • "Y6 and Y7 Pupils Brave the Mud at Belfast Schools Cross Country Championships!"

    Thu 18 Apr 2024 Admin

We were delighted to send a team of Y6 and Y7 pupils to the Belfast Schools Cross Country Championships at Mullusk this week. Conditions under-foot were challenging with a few of our runners losing a shoe in the mud but they all represented the school with heart and pride. Hopefully, with a bit more experience at racing over a longer distance, we'll be back to fill a few of the podium places!

    Well done Team Braniel!
