NI Futsal Finals - Runners up!
A fantastic effort from our Y7 Boys’ Futsal Team saw them crowned as the second best team in the country at the National Futsal Finals on Thursday, 11th April.
Despite four of the team having to return early from the Y7 Residential at Greenhill and, therefore, possibly not having as much rest and relaxation as was necessary in the build up to Finals Day, the team were absolutely magnificent!
Playing against other regional winners, we topped our group, with two 2 nil wins and a 1-1 draw. This was followed by a last-minute winner in the semi-final, to send the parents (and teacher) wild and the boys into the final.
We dared to dream of final success and Mr Muirhead had been instructed to start building the trophy cabinet, but unfortunately it was just a step too far. We came up against a very strong team in the final, with a lot of experience in Futsal, and, unfortunately, we were beaten.
It was, however, a fantastic day out and a superb achievement from some talented footballers, who were brand new to Futsal. Well done boys!
